This Mommy has had enough!

Yes folks this Mother has had enough. If you are a low life human step aside because I've had enough. If you are a dumb ass woman that follows instead of leads step aside.

In the last two days I've read things that have totally put me off. First Texas paid 19.5 million for the trouble going on down in Houston. Houston took in the Katrina victims and the whole city fell victim. Go look up the murder rate there right now. Stupid. 19.5 million because some people don't know how to act. On so many levels that's crap.

Now to the thing that put me over the cliff. I went to the Cool Single Mom's blog this morning. A friend and fellow service man's son died in Iraq. The Funeral was protested by soulless people. They dress their kids in T-shirts that say " God hates Soldiers". There is nothing funny about a stupid Mother putting that shirt on their child and going to a fallen soldiers funeral. Nothing!

Mr. Phelps you sir are a coward. I'm sorry you have a problem with humans being gay but that's not your business, it's theirs. Also read all the words in the bible, not just the ones that you can bend. To your followers, Wake up! Everything on this planet was made by God there for it is God. When you bad mouth other humans you bad mouth God. Why is that so damn hard to get. Oh...I forgot Mr. Phelps used the oldest trick in the book, the fear of Satan.

I'm rocked! At the age of 39 I had a daughter Trinity. I will be lucky if I live to see her be my age. I'm so mad at myself because I brought her into a world that disrespects everything.

I keep telling myself that this stupid shit from stupid people. But I'm drawing a line in the sand. I've had enough!

Back to School Cookies

Just thought this would be a good time to share this. My family love these cookies. I think my recipe came from Better Homes and Garden but I can't tell you when.

Oaty Doodle

2 cups rolled Oats
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter-flavor shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup sugar (for rolling cookies)

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • In a food processor process oats until finely ground.
  • In a bowl combine ground oats, flours, cinnamon, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  • In a mixing bowl beat butter and shortening with a mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add 1 1/2 cups of sugar ; beat until combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Slowly beat in the flour mixture.
  • Using a heaping spoonful for each, roll dough into a ball; then roll in 1/3 cup of sugar.
  • Place on cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Let stand 1 minute on cookie sheet and then cool on wire rack.

Enjoy!

Beads!!!

So what is your favorite Bead? Can't name just one? Me neither!

Why do we love Beads ? My husband's thoughts are that a beautiful necklace makes a woman shine. Ok I might give him a good grade for that thought. To me the way women dress and wear jewelry is a statement of where they are at in that moment in time.

Let take the little black dress. They say every woman has one. So if every woman has one it's the jewelry we wear that makes us look less like clones. The Beads and the metal become center stage.

You have been given the project of making a jewelry set for a little black dress. So what do you make? You have no idea where this dress is going or what it will be doing.

Maybe the dress is going on a first date.
Maybe it's going on a hot date.
Maybe its going to something it's mother said would be fun.
Maybe it's going to fire someone at work.

The Beads and metal bounce around in the mind and come up with different results. But it's just Beads and wire. Do they change the attitude of the person wearing them?

I ask myself these questions while I'm making jewelry. Like does the designer and the wearer share a mind thing because they both picked this piece? Hmmm there's a thought. Or maybe they see different things.

No Pictures...

Ok I may never have pictures. Hubby is on a new project and I'm not asking for help right now.
Also I'm not making anything that takes any talent. I may see the pictures and then hate everything. Then I'd have to sell them for $5 at Etsy. (my joke) There is a woman at Etsy that just sells earrings. They are $5 and the shipping is free. I figure if she makes $2 per earring she still made over $1000 in 6 months. I think it's funny.

See when I started into this beading thing I thought I'd make some stuff sell it. I'm a stay at home Mom and making a few dollars would be good for me. Now I want to do great stuff. Like Dallas Lovett. This guy has the talent. I guess I'm feeling like a fraud.

Ok new problem Trinity wants to wear the same PJ's everyday. She loves them. Crazy!

What is Art?

My ideas about Art have changed over the last few weeks. I've seen some beaded art that makes a flat painting look boring. On my last post I gave you a link to Sherri Serafini beautiful work. Please take a look at Christi Friesen work.

Now my own jewelry is normal but nice stuff. I still need to do the pictures. I've been toying with the idea of having my own jewelry show on my front lawn. Now this idea came to me after reading a craigslist post that stated "come drink some wine and buy some of our stuff". They had pictures too. Mini flea market and you get to drink. Cool!

Talking jewelry, my husbands thinks I should design one necklace and make it 100 times. Like all women want 5 of the same necklace. I had to explain that some women have a hundred different pairs of shoes. He has 5 of the same KSwiss classic originals.

Since my husband and I have different taste I've decided to call our jewelry company "His & Hers Jewelry". "His" will be the manly-man jewelry and "Hers" will be hip-chic jewelry. Well I hope this is how it's going to work.

Well back to work!

Beading!

Wow! Beading sound easy right? No, it's making me crazy trying to think of something wonderful. I think I'm getting over load by looking at other peoples work. Here's a good one! How does she do that? Hubby is getting in on the action too. The big bad former Marine is now making his own line of jewelry.

Hopefully pictures to come...

Oh I forgot I had a Blog!

Ok I haven't been busy, I've been potty training! I can say proudly that Trinity is doing Great. Yesterday was my birthday and we went out to eat. Trinity went in her panties and we had no problems. Not a biggy to anyone else but I thought it was a huge milestone.

Hopefully soon I'll be showing some picture of some bead work that I've been working on.

Also, please go to the Move On site and read about the funding cuts for NPR and PBS. PBS is big for young kids and I really don't know what will happen if the funding is cut.

Here Again

I'm just messing around and wondering if this thing still works. It's been awhile since I've done this. Wish I had never stopped...
