Texas is famous for its Bluebonnets in the spring time. The flower once known as “Buffalo Cover” is the state flower. The spring time tradition is to take pictures of your kids or dogs sitting in the Bluebonnets. My first spring here I was very taken by the vibrant color. That year we took a trip to Corpus Christi for Easter. On the way down there I marveled at the blanket of blue along the roadsides. I found out later that Lady Bird Johnson was responsible for having the roads seeded with the Bluebonnets.
Can you pick the Bluebonnets?
Some Texans will tell you no but it’s not illegal to pick the Bluebonnets. However it is illegal to destroy state property. So watch where you pick them.
Be safe...

I've always loved blue bonnets, both for the color and the shape of the flower. It's interesting to know it's not illegal to pick them.
Miachelle: One of the first things my husband told me when I moved to Texas was it is illegal to pick the Bluebonnets.
Be safe...
