If your making a trip to Austin where will you find the wacky and wild? Yes, Austin has it's own style. If your reading a job description from here it might say "Austin Casual" which means jeans and a t-shirt.I was looking through Rare Magazine and checking out all the off the norm boutiques. I give points to the dog grooming business called "Dirty Dog". Butt, the site that Wow'ed me is called Hem Jeans. Their web site is a marvel. Check it out.
How would I describe the Austin Style? Vintage, Retro, Recycled and Industrial. Now how does that work? Sounds a bit out there but the designers around Austin know how to make it all work.

Hello-I love reading your blog - it takes me back to my former home in Austin. You are right, the mix of industrial vintage, retro and recycled is the exact Austin look. I always think of it as a fifties vintage dress worn with $200 jeans, boots and a necklace made from rusty bottle caps and crystals, but maybe that's just my wardrobe!
