My Friends Like Nuts...

This Squirrel thinks I'm nuts and thats why she likes me. I'm sure my neighbors see me as the picture of mental health while I'm outside talking to the squirrel.

Mommy Squirrel and I became friends over a bag of pecans. She likes them enough to come up to my patio door to ask for them. She gives my cat Sasha this look that says "You don't even want to miss with me cat".

I haven't got brave enough to feed the squirrel from my hand yet. When I get that close to Mommy Squirrel I always watch my fingers. She tried to eat through the lid to the buck I store the bird seed in. I don't want my fingers to look like that bucket.

So its the weekend. Hope all is well.
Go a little nuts and see if the squirrels follow you!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, it's Christmas in July! For me,this thing started many years ago when I watched way too much QVC. I was so crazy I'd even make my kids watch Christmas movies all day. I didn't do that today! Well, not yet!

Peace on earth
And good will toward men...

If everyday could be just like Christmas, what a wonderful place this could be...

I'm sure all of us could use a little "Wonderful" right now.
So Merry Christmas!

Waiting on Harry...

So how many of you are twirling your wands waiting for the new Harry Potter book? Are you going to some book party at your local Barnes & Noble or Borders? Are you going to dress like your favorite character? Well I hope you do and I hope you have a good time.

Two books ago while still pregnant with Trinity I did the whole book party thing. My husband walked into borders and said "All this for a book?" Poor Man!

Now if by chance your one of those that hates Harry Potter and thinks he's the source of all things evil, please place duct tape over your mouth this weekend. Next week you can bitch and whine but not this weekend. This weekend keep your damn mouth shut.

For those reading the new book this weekend, find a comfortable chair and enjoy the adventure.

Can you use a computer?

I really got asked that question yesterday.

Ok I'm about to lose my G rating. See that picture over there, that's down town Austin before it became the rain forest it is today. I now live in the F-ing rain forest. I live here two summer and it never rains and now this year all it wants to do is rain. Sasha and Trinity have cabin fever. All I do is eat. (I just made Peach Bubble)

It's freaking black outside and the wind is gusting. Maybe if I go outside and use my Mommy voice I can make it stop.

Sunday Stuff...

Hope everyone made waffles for breakfast this morning. I did! I'm waiting for some of the sleepy heads to wake up before I make them.

The sun is shining in Texas this Sunday. The question is weather it will stay this way. Yesterday it rained which just added to the flooding. But the grass in my backyard has never looked so good.

Today they put Lady Bird Johnson to rest in the Texas land that she loved. I'm sure the wild flowers and birds will sing her praises.

This picture came from the zoo. I thought this cactus was very interesting.

Welcome back Paul and Family!

Waffle this weekend!

I found this Waffle recipe in the October 1999 Country Home magazine. I love it! It's simple too. Then the Butterscotch Sauce recipe tops off your waffles. Yum Yum!

You make the batter the night before. So in a large bowl combine the following like you know what your doing. When it's all mixed together cover bowl and place in the refrigerator.

OverNight Waffles
  • 2¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup cooking oil
Hopefully you know how to use your waffle maker. Now for the Yummy topping.

Butterscotch Sauce
  • 1 ¼ cups packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cups light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup margarine or butter
In a medium sauce pan combine ingredients and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve warm over the top of your waffles.

This is really good and so easy. I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as my family.

Free the Pee!

So how many of you have seen the movie "Bridge to Terabithia"? It's a very good movie with a serious side. I let Trinity watch the movie with me. Then the part came with the little kids chanting "Free the Pee" I knew that was going to be a problem.

Today Trinity was getting ready to put on her bathing suit when she looked at me and said "Free the Pee". I said "Yeah but do that in the bathroom". She replied "No, I'll just do it in the yard". Where did she get that idea? No, she's not around little boys.

Next time you need to go to the bathroom act like Trinity and yell out "Free The Pee"! But use the bathroom and not the yard.

Can you say "Gross" children?

Nothing like an Alligator with a attitude problem. Yeah there is one less Turtle at the Zoo!

Gross

Trinity didn't know what was going on and I was thankful for that but I did think this one Mother was going to pass out. The crunching noises was loud but Mr. Alligator had his back to the crowd of zoo goers. Then he decided to turn around and open his mouth so we could all check out what he was munching on.

Gross.

I'm just messing around and wondering if this thing still works. It's been awhile since I've done this. Wish I had never stopped...
