Almost Witching Hour

I'm so excited! I'm a Halloween Geek. Every year I do the same thing. I eat comfort food and watch scary movies. Growing up in Indiana on Friday night I always watched the channel 4 show "Sammy Terry". Over the weekend I found his web site. Listen to his voice. When I was younger his voice would send chills down my spine. I learned about Vampires through Sammy Terry not Annie Rice.

Speaking of Blood Suckers, oh no I'm not going to talk about our government, Walker has his latest installment of his SexTalk story posted. Damn I hate to say it but Shit it Rocks.

Also in Blog news, I have reason to believe that The Cool Single Mom is sitting in the pumpkin patch with Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin. That's ok, Colts/Bears SuperBowl would be a Good Thing! Don't mess with her boys the girl knows her football!

Can you say MyBlogLog 5 times really fast? I can't , I don't really understand it but I signed up to it. How about all of you sign up and explain it to me like I'm in kindergarten. Please! See this is why I shouldn't read the ZeroBoss.

If you bought your candy already don't eat it all tonight. (Husband, I'm talking to you) Save some for the Trick-or-Treater's. If you paint your face for Halloween use Baby Soap to get it off. The no more tears part really helps. Went to see my dealer today. Got two bags of beans so I'm ready to Rock for awhile. If your new here I'm talking about this.

Tomorrow wake up and Haunt with the best of them. Is that like saying "Get your Goth On"!

(Candy Corn Hugs to all)

Ghost Sell

Can't sell your house, tell buyers you have a Ghost! On MSN's Real Estate page they talk about Ghost adding value to the house. Who would have thought that. I grew up in a house built around 1843. It had four floors and it was built by a doctor. When I lived there I never thought about people dying in the house but it may have happened. Back then they had funerals in the home. A friend showed me pictures he found of a funeral in a house that he owed. He told me that after finding the photos he didn't like being in the house.

I only got freaked out in my parents house once. It was in the summer time and a bad storm was blowing in. The sky was black and it was only about 4 in the afternoon. To be honest I have no clue what freaked me out. I had just walked out of my bedroom and was heading for the stairs when thunder shook the house. My brain said run and I ran down those steps two at a time. I went outside and just looked at the house. It wasn't raining yet so I went to the gas station up the street and hung out with a cute guy. He knew I was scared but he didn't say anything. He gave me bubble gum. I was 16 when that happened. I'm sure I was the scariest thing in that house then.

The Mist of Avalon

Marion Zimmer Bradley gives us a rare flip side to King Arthur's Court with her book "The Mist of Avalon." Those that love Merlin will think the book not magical enough. No it's not Excalibur. It does give maybe a truer account of women in the time. Marion Zimmer Bradley wrote of powerful women and how they used that power. Sometimes for good, sometimes for evil.

If you've never read this book and love the King Arthur story you should try it. If you have read it, try the Forest House by M.Z. Bradley. If you need to kick it up a bit, play "Nightwish" in the background.

7 more days till Walker screams, I mean Halloween! Was that a hint "I don't care for the color of the box but whats inside is gold"? What? But it is looking very Halloween. It's going to be fun.

Hey watch Monster House it's not bad. So I'm off to go watch the movie about the Bell Witch and I can't tell you the name of the movie because I forgot.

PS: I Love FireFox!

Computer Problems

I'm not crazy about computer problems.
I don't care right now what will be in Walkers box in 8 days. I'm more worried about whats lurking on the box I'm typing on. Also I've got to make friends with this new laptop. I'm using IE and I don't have my bookmarks. Sending smoke signals is sounding like more fun.

More Weed!

Sorry, the weed stories make me laugh. Maybe the THC is coming through the web. No Way!

However, Wired News has a story on a pot grower who got busted by his own GPS device. I'd like to give the Cops a gold star for using Google Earth. I agree with the reporter, if your so stone you don't remember where your Pot Plants are that's bad.

I think I'll stick with Coffee. I never forget where the beans are. Finding a coffee dealer is easy but some of them still try to rape you with the price. It comes in different flavors for that great caffeine high. Now I must admit to forgetting to grind the beans and sticking them whole in the coffee maker a few times. Ok so I was Jonesing.

Ok, Who Can Make This?

Trinity and I went to the park. She played and I drew this necklace. The day before I had been going through some old notebooks and realize I have been doodling jewelry for years. On EniOken's site she shows drawing of the pieces that she's made. The drawing adds to the progression of the piece. I think we all learned that watching Lone Beader making the "Diva's". The "Diva's" progression started with a simple drawing, next the cut out felt pieces, the layering of beads and then the mounted finished piece. The drawing starts the anticipation for the final product which adds to the value of the art. Wow that was deep. I think I need coffee!

Before I forget, check out the John Mellencamp web site. Listen to his new single "Our Country". A good friend of my has been working for the Mellencamps for years doing their web sites. This Saturday is the launch of the new site but you can still go there now and listen to the new single. Yes I knew TonyB when he was in high school.

My Favorite Drug

Yes coffee is my favorite drug. I'm hardcore about it. I grind my own beans. French Roast! Every now and then Southern Pecan. I even drink coffee right before I go to bed. Shawn says I'm not a purist because I put creamer in my coffee.

So I found this "Study finds caffeine abuse among young Americans". The study is talking about students taking caffeine pills. That's nuts.

I had a friend named Buddy that drank coffee by the gallons. He even ate chocolate covered coffee beans. The boy didn't sit still or stand still. I'm sure people that didn't know him thought he was hyper. No he was just caffeined up. His wife saw something on TV about caffeine and told him he had to quit. He loved his wife so he did. He ended up in the hospital for about a week. His body started shutting down on him.

Coffee like beer in moderation is ok for you. Drink coffee or beer not diet coke!

No, this is My Space

Wired News ran the story today MYSpace Predator Caught By Code. Ok, so the title made me happy but then I read the story. I think the numbers make for a very scary story. The fact that these sex offenders get out of jail and are on the net making friends in less then two month makes me sick.

This is one of those subjects that pisses me off because I keep wanting to ask the question WHY!

Ambrosia Medicine

Yesterday Wire News ran the story "Honey Remedy could save Limbs." Most people don't know that honey is a strong Natural Drug. The bees secrete an enzyme which breaks down to being almost identical to a mild antibiotic. It helps with fatigue, arthritis, and wrinkles! Just mix a little olive oil and honey together and you have a moisturizer. The Egyptians were Honey addicts. Out of 900 known formulas 500 are based on honey.

When buying Honey go for the cloudy stuff. It might not have that pretty clear golden color but it has more of the healing stuff in it.

Must Share!

Go there and watch the video that was posted today.

Sorry had to add this. Read this after watching the video!

Here we go!

Chunky Monkey might get this necklace if she likes it.
There are earrings too.

These are mine. I wear them all the time.
The coins came from a pair of earrings that I've had for about 20 years.

I made this in 5 minutes to go with a shirt I had on.
Necessity is the Mother of invention. LOL

I've worn this but I don't like it. I see the chopping block in it's future.
I have faith that it will come back as something better.

This is one of the first things that I made.
It even has earrings to match.

"When is it too Much Jewelry!"
I saw a lady the other day with solid bracelets on both arms from her wrist to her elbow.
What ever floats your boat.
Water I hope.

Blame it on Harry Potter!

Last week I was busy so I didn't do my usual Blog reading. This morning I found "Laura Mallory: School Shootings? Blame Harry Potter!" This was a post from last week by the Zero Boss! I started reading the comments and found that the last week of September is Banned book week. So I checked out some sites on that too. The Captain Underpants series is on the banned book list. (rolling eyes) (Why?)

Ok raise your hand if you think Harry Potter made that guy shoot those little Amish girls in the head? I don't see any hands. Humans decided, make choices of where there lives are going to go. The sad things is, that as Humans, we see asking for help as something really bad.

I've fought the Harry Potter wars before in my own little way. I gave the High School I worked for a copy of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". The Librarian at the high school told me that they were talking about banning the books and so she wasn't ordering the Goblet of Fire. So I gave them mine. (hahaha) The librarian looked at me and said "you are so bad." Bad or not the book got placed on the shelf and then check out shortly after. I really felt good about what I had done then my favorite English teacher told me those books were evil and against her religion. I went to the same church that she did so I didn't get it. "Suffer not a witch to live among you"! Oh how could I have forgot that.

I'm not going to get into the whole King James translation because I like my head. (ok that was a joke and I hope you got it) The
Aramaic translation for the word is Murderer. "Suffer not a Murderer to live among you" That phase makes more sense now doesn't it.

This all reminds me of something my beloved husband Shawn said very loudly once. We were walking into Borders for the Midnight release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I was very pregnant with Trinity and Borders was a packed. Shawn walks in and very
loudly announices " All of this for a Book!" No shit babe, all this for a book.

The photo above is Edinburgh Castle.

Hello Chunky Monkey Baby!

The Chunky Monkey has been spying on my blog. The Monkey told me to get busy with my posting because I was behind. Monkey would you like me to post pictures of you as a child? Or maybe I should do a post call "The Monkey's Mother Lives in Texas"

If you haven't guessed my daughter Lauren aka The Monkey emailed me and told me to get busy on my blog. When she was the volleyball queen we called her Chunky Monkey. Other parents gave me weird looks when I yelled that out but it didn't stop me. Hey she knew I was talking to her. I also had the bad habit of eating a whole bag of Starburst at her volleyball games. No wonder I'm healthier and thinner now.

I haven't seen my Monkey in three years and I miss her bunches.

Getting my Fall On!

Did someone say that the leaves are changing? Yes rub it in but it won't be me out there raking will it. My favorite place to be during fall is Brown County, Indiana. aka Little Nashville

Since I can't be where it is cold and windy, I decided to read a scary book "Kiss of Darkness" by Heather Graham. Nothing like a good Vampire story that starts in New Orleans. Nothing will top the time I was reading Salem's Lot and a tree branch scratched across the window behind me. I shot about ten feet off the bed and took off running.

Today we are watching Hocus Pocus! Kid friendly Halloween flick. Trinity doesn't know what to think. So what's your favorite scary movie or book?
